Warriors 4 Life was created as a club in 2013; the name of the club was wounded warriors for life, we knew that we would eventually overcome our wounds, we didn't want to use wounded for life, rather we preferred Warriors for Life. Veterans and their family confronts challenges every day of their lives wounded or not and that is why the founder of the organization Jose E Santiago, a Army combat medic, along with his spouse the treasurer of W4L Joann Villegas and friends came up with the name Warriors 4 Life. As a club we started piggy backing events like Face of America with World Team Sports and Puerto Rico Grand Fondo in 2014 that was our first official event in Puerto Rico and first official cycling event ever participated by any veterans organization in the Island, we were the stepping stone to other organization to participate in cycling events in the island and start helping the veterans in Puerto Rico, thanks to Luker Danyluke and Warriors 4 Life.

In 2015 we took on our first big challenge La Vuelta Puerto Rico a 375 miles in 3 days, from there on we started growing pretty fast and found ourselves helping other veterans, if we couldn't help them we made sure we guided them in the right direction, we knew there and then that riding was our purpose (Mounted Group Therapy) that was our purpose. We decided to become an all volunteer non salary Non-Profit organization to help veterans that way we know best on our bikes. We knew that eventually we will incorporate more activities as swim, bike, run, hiking, social events ect. all including our family the ones that holds the home front.

In late 2015 W4L became a non-profit but that did not mean we did not get the work done during the year, that just meant we had to work under other organizations. Since then we have created two strong chapters Warriors 4 Life Colorado and Puerto Rico. 2016 has become our strongest year yet facing lots of challenges but taking them face on 100 de Monte Claro, La Vuelta Puerto Rico, Ride the Rockies in Colorado with Adaptive Sports Center in Crested Butte, we Introduced W4L to Florida in SpaceCoast Freewheelers Cross Florida 170 miles in two days From Cocoa Beach to Tampa, various social events like major league baseball games, barbecues and more, we participated in our first race which was a brutal MTB race in Puerto Rico (100K) Las 100 de la Parguera. We have also being working on building a chapter in West Florida. 2016 will end with a team of 12 veterans riding the Intracoastal Waterway Century- SpaceCoast Freewheelers along with VIP Warriors in Cocoa Beach at the end of Oct. 2016 and Determination tour 2016 a 300 mile ride in 3 days in Puerto Rico on veterans weekend 2016.

Stay tuned because 2017 will be full of surprises!
